Credit-by-exam is a quick way to get credit for things that you already know. Some schools call that a portfolio, we call it awesome.
You can get college credit from taking and passing a CLEP test or a DANTES test. Some schools accept both of these types tests. Some schools allow you to take anywhere from 12-30 credits towards graduation through credit-by-exam. Some schools allow for almost unlimited credit, but this is much more rare.
